Dr. Edward Kim

Dr. Edward Kim is a board-certified family medicine physician and the founder of Proper Med, an upscale concierge medical practice dedicated to delivering highly personalized, evidence-based care.

With experience across premiere health systems in California, Colorado, and Texas, Dr. Kim brings a wealth of expertise in caring for patients from all different backgrounds.

Before establishing Proper Med, Dr. Kim served as an attending physician with the Southern California Permanente Medical Group and the Colorado Permanente Medical Group, where he was recognized for his excellence in patient care, team leadership, and clinical innovation.

He has advanced training in outpatient procedures, including joint and trigger point injections, and he takes pride in blending cutting-edge medicine with the personal attention patients deserve.

Dr. Kim’s medical journey includes residency at the UT Health San Antonio Family & Community Medicine Program and a fellowship in Disaster Medicine at Harvard’s Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. At Harvard, he collaborated with local and federal agencies on public health and safety initiatives.

Known for his approachable style and commitment to accessible, high-quality care, Dr. Kim founded Proper Med to reimagine the physician-patient relationship — offering same-day appointments, direct physician access, and thoughtful, comprehensive care tailored to each patient’s lifestyle and goals.

When he’s not caring for patients, Dr. Kim enjoys spending time with his family and golfing.
